Ostende

Friday, July 18th, 2008

Wet weather put a damper on Paul Noble & BSD’s efforts in the European Sound of Thunder series.

Having not raced on roads, Paul found the race through the streets of Ostende in Belgium a learning curve. He gradually got used to the conditions and circuit to qualify in the top six but he tried to get to the front too quickly in the first race and found that straw bales do move if you hit them hard enough.

So a battered bike and rider had to be prepared for race two, as usual Mark (BSD) did a sterling job and the bike was ready. Paul got away with the front runners but local knowledge of the track proved key and he finished a very creditable fourth.. The race was held near the dock and it was the first time we had seen frogmen as marshalls.

Assen

Friday, July 18th, 2008

In terrible weather Paul Noble came away from the Dutch round of the European sound of thunder with a win & a second place. Practice saw Paul well down the qualifiers in 14th position, but Sunday saw a big improvement Mark (BSD) had made a few adjustments to the wet weather set up which enabled Paul to come through the field to take the win.

The second race was run in much worse conditions where it was not possible to see the riders ahead for the spray it didn’t stop them running at speeds of up to 170mph, Paul pulled through for a second place.

Mallory Park 28/10/07

Monday, October 29th, 2007

We turned up to the last round needing six points to clinch the chmpionship and as you would expect for the end of October the weather was atrocious.
So we opted for the safe route and took it easy in fourth place and let the chaps fighting
for second and third places in the championship battle it out.

Well thats it for another year we have suceeded in what we set out to do by winning the SOT championship. Now just to decide what we are going to do next year…

Well we turned the workshop into a dance hall/bar for an evening with a live band beer and baked potatoes but sadly no mirrored disco ball.

Cadwell Park

Monday, October 15th, 2007

The qualifying went well and we ended up pole for the racing over the next two days, we needed to win all the races to be in the lead going to the last round at Mallory park.

The first race on Saturday went to plan with a good start and we led from the off to finish first, the second race however did not go quite to plan when Paul started in second gear, however it did make for a more exciting race as he had to fight his way through from fifth, perhaps he should do it more often…

Sundays race 1 and again we led from start to finish, race two was better with a good clean battle with Marcus Wade however we beat him to the line and finished first.

So its off to Mallory park on the 28th we need only six points to win the championship
